For the 7th year in a row, OGSystems has been named to the Inc. 5000 Fastest Growing Companies list. To celebrate this achievement, we highlighted 7 employees who have been with OGSystems for 7 years.

Meet Gabe

As a web developer, Gabe’s responsibilities include being the lead developer and technical lead for an Intelligence Community customer and technical lead of a team of nine on another customer site. He also supports the corporate office with past performance write-ups for proposals, technical interviews and all-around subject matter expertise.

Describe your path to OGSystems.

I met Omar (co-founder) when he was my technical lead on a program over 10 years ago.  I was working for Lockheed Martin and he was working for another company.  Roughly six months into that position, Omar had indicated that he was moving on to create OGS and asked me to join him. I initially declined, wanting to finish out my first year at Lockheed Martin because it was where I obtained my first clearance. I ran into Omar a year later and he asked again to come over to OGS. He said, "we'll take care of you.” With my family’s support, I made the transition to OGS and haven’t looked back.

Why have you stayed with OGS for 7+ years?

I'm a loyal person by nature and I am a creature of habit. I like consistency in work and in people. I enjoy working with my colleagues at OGS and I enjoy the work that I do for our customers. The culture has been one of family and friendship and that is why I have stayed at OGS for 10 years.

What has been the most exciting thing you’ve seen in OGSystems’ evolution as a company?

For me, it’s been exciting to watch the growth of the company over time. The opportunity to learn from people and to teach others is what excites me. I'm a life-long learner and I think there are many more people I can learn from and many more that can learn from me. I've had the pleasure of meeting many over the years and I hope to continue to meet many more.

What hasn’t changed about OGS in the last 7 years?

The family aspect of the work relationship with folks seems to never change. You can go months without seeing someone and catch them at a random OGS event and it feels as if you see each other every day after a few minutes of catching up.  Everyone has a great attitude, and this is something I hope never changes as the company keeps growing.
